Introducing...

At the end of last summer we had two new additions to our home, Zoey and Eddie. Zoey is the kitten with all white fur and has a plumed tail like a squirrel. She is one of the more uncoordinated cats I have ever seen. Eddie is a boy that has grown to be significantly larger than Zoey. Eddie likes to sleep in the bathtub and plays fetch like a dog would.

We adopted them when they were eight weeks old. According to the Humane Society they are brother and sister and were found abandoned at 2 weeks old. They were bottle fed until they were able to eat on their own.

They are now about 8 months old. Don't let these pictures fool you. They are full of energy and most of the time can't sit still.

Christmas 2007

Over the Christmas holidays Daniela and I visited her family in the Czech Republic. There are a number of traditions and customs. The main dish for Christmas dinner is carp, which can be purchased anywhere in the streets of Prague. Here's a pic from a market that is selling carp. The carp's price is calculated from the weight of the fish. Then you have the option to take it home live or dead.

We spent some time at the Christmas market in Old Town Square in Prague. There's lots of tasty treats such as hot wafers, nuts, crepes; and drinks to keep you warm such as milled wine and mead.

This is a picture of myself, Daniela, her sister Stephanie, her father Stanley, and mother May. After dinner on Christmas there are a few traditions. The one you see here is where we slice the apple in half to see who will have the greatest amount of good luck in the new year, which is determined by the person who has the apple with the largest star after cutting.
